In a world shaped by tech, being a UX designer is a privilege. I use the UCD process to ensure I'm bringing value to people's lives.

Google

Recent Work

I redesigned the image carousel on Google’s Placesheet, allowing users to see more visual information with less effort so they can decide if a place matches their needs more quickly.

I designed a unified, platform-wide, keyboard focus indicator making Google Cloud Platform usable for those who rely on keyboard navigation (and unblocking accessibility-dependent contracts).

Adaptabile

Process

Against our best efforts we rarely follow the “ideal” process due to limited time, resources, or buy-in. However, before as much as a napkin sketch, step one is always to understand the problem we’re trying to solve and why. From there, it’s a matter of evaluating which steps in the UCD process make the most sense given our goals and constraints.

Hi, I’m Claire

About Me

Since 2010, I've designed elegant, gratifying user experiences across industries and platforms. I've been lucky enough to collaborate with talented teams at Nordstrom, where I reimagine omnichannel retail, and Blink UX, where I consulted with companies large and small. Now I’m at Google where I design experiences that billions of people use daily.

I thrive on collaboration, creative problem solving, and mentoring others. I believe shipping beats perfection and if you’re not solving for real user needs then you’re missing the mark.

When I'm not in the office you'll find me listening to podcasts, blogging about gift-giving, and wrangling my two little ones.
